BREAKING: On A Day Of Presidential Campaign Flag-off, Court Nullifies APC Primary

The All Progressives Congress (APC) primary that produced Senator Emmanuel Bwacha as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2023 general elections was declared null and void by Justice Obiora Egwatu of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

In his ruling, Justice Egwuatu declared that the purported primary conducted by APC on May 26 this year, following which the party announced Bwacha of APC Taraba South as its candidate for the 2023 gubernatorial elections, was a nullity based on submissions made before him by all concerned parties.

Yusuf Yusuf, the senator representing Taraba Central, instituted the ruling.

Bwacha was fired last month by another Federal High Court in Jalingo, Taraba State’s capital, in a separate case brought by another governorship aspirant, David Kente.

In separate rulings, the two courts urged the APC leadership to hold a new governorship primary in Taraba.
