PDP Crisis: Nwoko Slams Wike For Allegedly Causing Confusion

After losing the presidential primary ticket to Atiku Abubakar, Nwoko accused the governor of inciting a party crisis and sought for disciplinary action against him.

Nwoko also charged Wike with squandering enormous sums of Rivers State funds in an effort to win the Party’s vice presidential ticket, an endeavor that once again fell through.

The Rivers State Governor responded by claiming that Nwoko’s persistent attacks on him were not unrelated to the $418 million Paris Club refund that some consultants, including Nwoko, were requesting, which Wike and some other governors had opposed. The governor made this claim in a statement released by his commissioner for information, Mr. Chris Finebone.

However, Wike was criticized by Ned Nwoko Media Directorate for creating unneeded confusion within the PDP, branding him a bitter loser who was infuriated by his electoral failure.

The Directorate further exhorted him to let go of the past and accept that the Presidential primary had already passed. The further challenge in the statement was for Wike to reveal his outside employment.

“It is unacceptable for Wike to keep putting the PDP in a bad light with his crude and erratic behavior while trying to play God. He needs to curb his recklessness.

“Enough of his unguarded statements. They were unbecoming of a governor. Why is he complaining everywhere because he lost an election?

“Who made him an indispensable leader? Does he know how PDP evolved? His agitations are not genuine but selfish.”

According to the statement, Nwoko began his campaigns (at the High Court in London) for the federal government to stop further deductions from the allocations to the states and local governments and for the excess deductions to be refunded in 2005 after being hired by the states as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England.

He was unsure about Wike’s current location. When past governors like Bonny Haruna, Orji Uzor Kalu, Peter Obi, and Jolly Nyame traveled to London to visit Nwoko’s office with their teams, where was he? He queried.

Prince Nwoko has benefited greatly from his patriotic activities, thus Nwoko thought it was insulting for the governor of Rivers State to inquire about his line of work.

He further claimed that if Wike had been picked as the Vice Presidential candidate, he would not have insisted on the removal of the party Chairman and that Wike was not fighting for the South.
