Breaking: PDP Leader Revalidates-Membership, Criticizes State Administration
In a move that underscores his commitment to the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), a prominent political figure from Iperu-Remo, Ogun State, has revalidated his party membership and transferred it to a different ward within the state. The decision comes amidst growing discontent with the current administration’s governance style and priorities.
The political leader, addressing journalists following his membership revalidation and transfer, expressed his belief that the PDP stands as the party best equipped to address the challenges facing Nigeria. He criticized the incumbent administration’s handling of government affairs in the state, suggesting that it has impeded progress and development.
Highlighting the PDP’s track record of responsiveness and people-oriented governance, the leader emphasized the party’s understanding of the intricacies of governance and its commitment to addressing the needs of the populace.
“We are a very responsive and people-oriented party,” he declared, “we understand the art of governance matter, we imbibe that culture and we have been able to succeed on it.”
The leader commended the infrastructural strides made by PDP-led governments in other states, particularly citing the example of Oyo State under Governor Seyi Makinde. He contrasted this with what he perceived as insufficient development efforts in Ogun State under the current administration.
Drawing attention to the disparity in infrastructure development between the two states, he highlighted Governor Makinde’s ambitious projects as emblematic of effective governance. In contrast, he expressed disappointment in what he described as lackluster efforts by the incumbent administration in Ogun State, particularly in his hometown of Iperu-Remo.
The leader underscored the PDP’s commitment to grassroots mobilization and expansion, noting that the party had registered over 100,000 new members in Ogun State following the last gubernatorial elections.
His remarks signal a broader trend of political realignment and critique within Ogun State, as opposition figures voice their dissatisfaction with the status quo and seek alternative avenues for political engagement.
