BREAKING: Tension As Peter Obi Storms Abuja, Ask Tinubu To Reintroduce Himself To Nigerians Amid Chicago State University Certificate Controversy
Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has urged President Bola Tinubu to reintroduce himself to the Nigerian public.
In light of recent events, including a US court’s order for Chicago State University (CSU) to disclose the President’s academic records upon the request of the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi addressed a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday.
Obi urged President Tinubu to reiterate to Nigerians the schools he attended, confirm his participation in the one-year National Youth Service Corps scheme, and provide clarity on any potential name changes.
He emphasized that, having held the highest political office in the country, President Tinubu no longer maintains a right to privacy regarding his identity, in order to avoid an international embarrassment related to an identity crisis.
The former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, had formally requested the release of President Tinubu’s certificate from Chicago State University. This was prompted by suspicions regarding the authenticity of the certificate submitted by the former Lagos State governor to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Following the release of the President’s academic records last week, Atiku, who is actively contesting Tinubu’s election, held a press conference. At the conference, he extended an invitation to individuals like Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and other concerned Nigerians, urging them to join his pursuit of “justice” in this matter. Atiku also declared his unwavering commitment to continue seeking resolution on this issue.
