The Afrobeat superstar stunned fans when he walked off on Tuesday night after an overzealous fan jumped on stage and attempted to grab him. The shocking incident quickly went viral, prompting Burna Boy to explain his actions on social media.

In a candid Instagram post, the ‘Stand Tall’ singer revealed that he suffers from Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), which was triggered by the unexpected stage intrusion. He further expressed that such surprises while performing are deeply unsettling for him.

“I was supposed to perform for just 10 minutes but ended up giving almost an hour to Lagos. However, I’ve always made it clear that no one should surprise me on stage,” Burna Boy explained. “I love my fans and appreciate their support, but please respect my boundaries. Jumping on stage like that is not okay. I have PTSD, and it triggers me.”

Despite the drama, Burna Boy assured fans that he had a fantastic time performing in Lagos and wished them a Happy New Year.

In other news, Burna Boy’s relationship with Speed Darlington has made headlines once again. Recently, Burna Boy shared a cryptic post following the release of Speed Darlington from police detention after a tumultuous period. The conflict between the two escalated when Speed Darlington publicly linked Burna Boy to the controversial American rapper, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

After Speed Darlington’s release from jail in December, Burna Boy posted on Instagram, saying that while he didn’t care about the opinions of others, his response to critics is always fierce. He hinted that many of his detractors would not be so lucky if he had less to lose.
