In an interview with Punch, Okocha described the fight as “manipulated” and criticized the lack of proper preparations for the event. He argued that the musician, who is significantly lighter than him, would not be able to defeat him in a well-organized boxing match.

Okocha expressed disappointment with the conditions of the ring, citing its slipperiness, and highlighted Portable’s decision to remove his gloves during the fight as a reason for disqualification. He expected a draw rather than Portable being declared the winner, emphasizing his dissatisfaction with the outcome.

The celebrity boxing match was organized after Okocha allegedly scammed Portable of 40 million naira, and the bout aimed to settle their differences. Okocha denied any scam and asserted that the allegations were a strategy to promote the fight.
