Don-Jazzy Appreciates Wizkid For Endorsing Ayra-Starr’s New Album (View Text)

Music Executive Don Jazzy and Afrobeats megastar Wizkid have resolved any impressions of a rift between them following their recent social media fallout.

The reconciliation was made evident when Don Jazzy publicly expressed his appreciation for Wizkid’s endorsement of his signee Ayra Starr’s sophomore album, ‘The Year I Turned 21.’ On Friday, Wizkid took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to endorse the album, sharing the album cover and streaming link with the caption: “Superstar [love and eagle emojis].”

In response, Don Jazzy reposted Wizkid’s tweet and added his own caption: “Thanks Big Wiz [eagle emoji].”

The reconciliation follows a previous social media conflict where Wizkid shaded Don Jazzy after Ladipoe, another Mavin signee, seemingly ridiculed Wizkid for claiming that “hip hop is dead.” A fan pointed out Ladipoe’s post to Wizkid, who then reacted by saying, “Lol, never chatting with anyone signed to an influencer. Next.” This was followed by retweets suggesting that Don Jazzy, the Mavin Records boss, was being referred to as an influencer.

Wizkid’s subtle shade at Don Jazzy sparked outrage on social media, with celebrities like Mr Macaroni, Nasboi, and reality stars Doyin and Tacha criticizing Wizkid for “disrespecting” Don Jazzy. In response to the controversy, Don Jazzy unfollowed Wizkid on Instagram.

Despite the fallout, the recent exchange on social media indicates that the two have moved past their differences, showcasing their support for one another.
