Enugu Governor Mourns Nollywood Actor Jnr. Pope

In a statement released by the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Aka Eze Aka, Governor Mbah conveyed his condolences to the family of the late actor and the entire Nollywood industry. He emphasized that Jnr. Pope’s demise is a significant loss, particularly at a time when Enugu State is striving to nurture the creative talents of its youth for self-reliance and national recognition.
Jnr. Pope, a native of Ukehe in Igbo-Etiti Council Area of Enugu State, lost his life in a tragic boat accident on the River Niger alongside three colleagues while returning from a movie location.
Governor Mbah lamented the untimely death of such promising young talents and pledged the state government’s commitment to supporting the bereaved families. He assured that Enugu State would collaborate with the late actor’s family to organize a dignified burial ceremony.
Furthermore, Governor Mbah announced the opening of a condolence register to allow Nigerians to pay their respects and tributes to the late Nollywood star, underscoring the significant impact Jnr. Pope had on the entertainment industry and the lives of many.
