The Chief Executive Officer, BlackMoh Consulting, Mr. Mohammed Ahmed, has said lack of effective communication destroys marital institution.
Speaking during Single Conference hosted by Hearthub Solutions themed “Single and Secure: embracing self-growth and personal care,” Ahmed urged participants to always carry their partners along.
The clinical psychologist stated that people, especially men do not communicate effectively in their marriages. He said there is nothing wrong in being vulnerable to one’s partner, advising them to have self-control.
He urged the unmarried to be self-determined to have personal growth and also in choosing the right person. He stressed that everyone, especially those that are single should cultivate those traits because it will help them when they get married.
Ahmed emphasised on the importance of good and sustainable connections before marriage.
He urged everyone to build strong relationships and not to rely solely on their partners as it destroys marriages.
He also said individuals should know the type of relationship that exists in their spouses’ lives before marriage as it will help them to navigate and manage any obstacle that might occur after marriage.
A panelist, Kazeem Lawal, said most singles are scared of marriage, adding that the conference was meant to help in changing people’s thoughts about marriage.

He said he has never regretted meeting his wife since they got married sixteen years ago.

She stated that the event was to enlighten single people on how to work well on themselves before marriage.
“I brought this together for singles so they can understand themselves, know their inadequacies, understand their traumas and also be wholesome before they say yes” she noted.
She appreciated those who contributed to the success of the programme and also the participants that were present.
A participant, Ifeoma Dike, said the conference exceeded her expectations on having self-worth, care and how to prepare for marriage life.
