INEC Uploads Only 4.5% of Edo Election Results on IREV, Raising Concerns
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded just 4.5% of the total results from the recent Edo governorship election onto its official Result Viewing Portal (IREV). This low percentage has sparked concerns among voters and political observers who are keenly following the election’s outcome and demanding greater transparency in the process.
INEC’s IREV portal was introduced to enhance the credibility of elections by allowing the public to view real-time results from polling units across the state. The portal aims to increase transparency and boost public confidence in the electoral process. However, the slow pace of result uploads has led to questions about the efficiency of INEC’s operations in this crucial election.
Many voters, political analysts, and civil society groups are eager to see a more significant portion of the results published. They believe that a faster and more comprehensive release of results will help curb misinformation, reduce tension, and promote fairness in the electoral process. Delays or incomplete uploads may fuel doubts and suspicion, particularly in a highly contested election like this.
While INEC has not given a clear reason for the slow progress, the public continues to monitor the situation, hoping that the commission will accelerate the process. Full transparency is vital to ensuring that the election reflects the true will of the people.
As Edo voters and stakeholders wait for the complete upload of results, they are calling for a more efficient system that guarantees timely and accurate reporting in future elections.
