Just In: Niger State-Assures Investors Over Security-Challenges; Crackdown On Mining-Violators
The Niger State government remains steadfast in attracting investments despite localized insecurity challenges. The state government recently revoked licenses of mining companies violating a mining ban, underscoring its commitment to sectoral integrity.
Aminu Takuma, Commissioner of Industry, Trade, and Investment, emphasized the government’s transparency with investors regarding security dynamics, noting that only specific areas are affected by banditry. He highlighted efforts to combat insecurity, including the establishment of dedicated ministries.
Takuma warned of strict penalties for mining infractions, reinforcing the ban to safeguard against security risks and maintain sectoral credibility. He also discussed an upcoming Nigeria Public Private Partnership Network meeting aimed at fostering dialogue for national food security and economic growth objectives.
The meeting, scheduled for June 26-27, aims to enhance infrastructure development through collaborative PPP initiatives, promoting sustainable economic development nationwide.
