JUST IN: Prominent Elder Statesman Is Dead (PHOTO)
Alhaji MK Ahmed, a former administrative secretary of the defunct Northern Elements Progressive Union (NEPU), has died at the age of 96.
Suleiman Ahmed, one of his children, told journalists that the late elder statesman died at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) on Saturday morning.
He stated that the deceased left behind a wife, 30 children, and numerous grandchildren.

MK Ahmed, the late secretary of the Nigerian Pilgrims Welfare Association, founded it in 1961. He also wrote the book “The Chronicle of NEPU/PRP.”
He worked for the defunct Electricity Corporation of Nigeria, ECN; the National Electric Power Authority, NEPA; and Arab Brothers, among other organizations.
In 2003, he was awarded the national honor of Member of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, MFR.
