Lawmaker Threatens Legal Action Against Air Peace Over Alleged Ticket Change Despite N12 Million Payment

Ahmed, who was accompanied by his family for a lesser hajj journey, recounted in an interview with Daily Trust that their scheduled departure from Kano airport on March 27 was unexpectedly delayed until the following day.

Expressing his frustration, Ahmed revealed that despite paying approximately N12 million for a trip from Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, the Nigerian airline downgraded their seats from business class to economy class.

The lawmaker voiced his dissatisfaction with Air Peace’s pattern of frequent delays, flight disruptions, and abrupt schedule alterations, asserting that the airline’s decision to downgrade his ticket without compensation was unacceptable.

His intention to pursue legal recourse against Air Peace stems from a broader objective of addressing the mistreatment experienced by passengers within Nigeria’s aviation sector.

Ibrahim Shehu, another affected passenger, echoed similar sentiments, urging the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and relevant government entities to intervene and facilitate the recovery of funds paid to Air Peace by affected travelers.

As of the time of reporting, Air Peace has refrained from issuing a public statement regarding the matter.
