Lojay: “Music Industry Full Of Temptations, Women Everywhere
Nigerian Afrobeats singer Lojay has opened up about how his perspective on fame and relationships evolved following his rise in the music industry. According to Ireporter Online, the artiste revealed that at the early stage of his career, he believed attaining stardom would grant him the freedom to engage in multiple romantic relationships, a notion he admitted was common before he fully stepped into the spotlight.
Speaking during an appearance on the I Said What I Said podcast, Lojay explained that his mindset began to shift as he gained a deeper understanding of what it takes to build a sustainable career. He noted that the overwhelming attention he received, particularly from women, made him realise the importance of exercising restraint rather than indulging excessively.
The singer further stated that the music industry is filled with distractions and constant temptations, stressing that not every opportunity should be explored. He emphasised that discipline remains a critical factor for artistes who intend to stay focused and maintain long-term relevance.
Lojay added that the level of attention he encountered after gaining recognition made it clear that proper management of such exposure was essential for his growth. He explained that being approached by numerous admirers at once reinforced the need for self-control if he hopes to achieve longevity comparable to top-tier acts in the industry.
He also reflected on his transition from an emerging act to a mainstream figure, noting that certain lifestyles he once admired from afar became less appealing upon closer experience. According to him, while many outsiders assume that artistes live without restrictions, there is, in reality, a strong need for caution, as public image and reputation play a significant role in shaping a musician’s career.
