Babajide Sanwo-Olu Names Seven New Permanent Secretaries In Fresh Appointments

The Lagos State Government has approved the elevation of seven senior officials to the rank of Permanent Secretary in a move aimed at strengthening the state’s civil service and enhancing policy implementation. According to Ireporter Online, the appointments received the approval of Babajide Sanwo-Olu and were formally conveyed through a circular issued by the Office of the Head of Service.

The communication, which was distributed to top government functionaries including the Deputy Governor, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, the Chief Judge, commissioners, and heads of various agencies, explained that the decision forms part of ongoing efforts to improve administrative efficiency and service delivery across the state.

The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are Dr Babajide Olumuyiwa Martins, Engr. Adetunji Adeyemi Adesanya, Mrs Bukonla Olusola Durodola, Oluwatoyin Olubunmi Oladeji, Mr Tiwalade Adeyinka Sorungbe, Architect Bolanle Monica Olukareh, and Dr Adenike Oluwafunmilayo Oluwo. Prior to their elevation, they served as Directors in different ministries and agencies within the state public service.

It was gathered that the officials, who were on Grade Level 17 before their appointments, have extensive experience spanning key sectors such as urban development, local government administration, science and technology, public works, justice, and social development.

The circular, endorsed by the Head of Service, Bode Agoro, indicated that the appointments will take effect from April 24, 2026, while details regarding their specific postings are expected to be announced in due course. Relevant government offices were also directed to ensure wide dissemination of the information.
