Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, the newly appointed Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, expressed his sense of challenge upon being appointed as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He shared these thoughts during an event in Abuja, where he was honored by the Osun State chapter of the APC and other stakeholders.
Speaking at the reception, Oyetola expressed his gratitude for being considered worthy of the ministerial appointment by President Bola Tinubu.

He also thanked the attendees for their solidarity and emphasized that their support would motivate him to achieve even more in the interest of Nigerians.
The minister acknowledged the responsibilities that come with the position and his determination to excel in fulfilling the presidential mandate.
He recognized that leading a new ministry would involve starting from the beginning, but he expressed confidence in his ability to succeed with the guidance of Almighty God.

Sen. Iyiola Omisore, the immediate past National Secretary of the APC, praised Oyetola’s appointment, describing him as a “round peg in a round hole.” Omisore expressed optimism that Oyetola would effectively fulfill his new role.
Former Interim National Chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande, also commended Oyetola’s appointment, viewing it as a deserved honor for both Oyetola and the people of Osun. Akande conveyed hope that the appointment would revive the people’s confidence in the Nigerian project and the Tinubu-led administration.
Oyetola, who previously outlined his vision for a thriving blue economy sector during his assumption of office, emphasized the abundant marine resources present in Nigeria’s coastal region. He emphasized the importance of fully utilizing these resources and promoting inter-agency cooperation within maritime organizations.
At the event, Oyetola was joined by other prominent figures, including Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, traditional rulers, members of the Osun House of Assembly, and diplomats.
