NDLEA Confiscates Tramadol and Other Hard Drugs in Raids Across Kano and Lagos

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has seized large quantities of illicit drugs in multiple raids across Kano and Lagos states, leading to several arrests.

In Kano, NDLEA operatives arrested Michael Ogundele, 45, along the Zaria-Kano road, after discovering 50,000 pills of tramadol (225mg) concealed inside a 50-litre steel gas cylinder. In Lagos, the NDLEA arrested Olumuyiwa Kolawole and Samod Adisa in Mushin with 67.5kg of skunk, while another 100.8kg of the same substance was recovered from a store in Anifowoshe. Isah Idris was arrested in Apapa with 4.5kg of skunk, 600 grams of tramadol, and 30 litres of codeine syrup. Another suspect, Yahaya Mohamed, was caught in Ikotun with cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine.

NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi emphasized the agency’s commitment to its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) program, which includes educational campaigns in schools, markets, and other public spaces across the country.
