Nigeria, Egypt Forge Stronger Defence Ties Through MoU Signing

Nigeria and Egypt have formalized their commitment to strengthening defence industry cooperation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The signing ceremony took place on Wednesday at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja.

Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, signed the MoU on behalf of Nigeria. Major General Walid Hamouda, Assistant Minister of Defence of Egypt, represented his country in the agreement.

The MoU is designed to enhance bilateral and defence collaboration between Nigeria and Egypt, adhering to the respective laws and regulations of both nations. Dr. Kana expressed confidence in the long-standing robust relationship between the two countries, emphasizing that Nigeria has greatly benefited from Egypt in intelligence sharing and military training.

Major General Hamouda, leading the Egyptian delegation, conveyed his gratitude for the opportunity to formalize the cooperation. He affirmed Egypt’s commitment to the MoU’s provisions and praised the cordial relations between the two nations.
