The weightlifting category emerged as Nigeria’s standout, yielding the highest number of medals with 32 in total, including 16 gold, 10 silver, and six bronze medals. In athletics, Nigeria showcased exceptional performance, securing 22 medals, marking it as the second most successful sport for the Nigerian team at the Games.

Additionally, Nigeria excelled in wrestling, claiming 12 medals, while boxing contributed eight gold medals to the nation’s tally. Furthermore, Nigeria demonstrated prowess in arm wrestling, securing 13 medals.

Egypt claimed the top position in the overall standings with a total of 189 medals, comprising 101 gold, 46 silver, and 42 bronze. Meanwhile, South Africa secured the third spot on the medals table, clinching a total of 106 medals, including 32 gold, 32 silver, and 42 bronze medals.
