No Attack On Ibori-Suenu – Delta APC Fires Back At Violence Reports

According to Ireporter Online, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has dismissed claims of an attack on Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, the member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, describing the reports as exaggerated media sensationalism. The party also refuted allegations of violence and the formation of parallel executives following its recent local government congresses in Ethiope West and other areas of the state.

In a statement issued by the State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, and made available to journalists in Asaba, the APC affirmed that its congresses were conducted peacefully and in full compliance with party guidelines approved by the National Working Committee. Onojeghuo emphasized that there were no breaches of peace or parallel congresses anywhere in Delta State.

He said, “Those spreading such reports are deliberately distorting facts. The APC structure in Delta State remains intact, cohesive, and fully integrated.” He added that the exercise, monitored by officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission, underscored transparency and credibility.

Onojeghuo also commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for fostering unity within the party, noting that the current APC structure is broad-based and inclusive, accommodating both longstanding members and new entrants.

The party congratulated newly elected executives across the state’s 25 local government areas and reaffirmed its commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging members to support the new leadership and maintain party unity ahead of future political engagements.
