Okey Ndibe Freed After DSS Detention At Lagos Airport
According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian author and columnist Okey Ndibe has confirmed his release from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) following his detention at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
Ndibe disclosed the development in a Facebook post on Tuesday, expressing appreciation to friends, acquaintances, and well-wishers who reached out after news of his detention surfaced publicly. He stated that he was held by DSS operatives for over three hours at the airport before being released.
The writer further noted that the officers who handled his case were professional and courteous throughout the period of his detention. He also revealed that he received numerous calls from people across different parts of the world following the incident but was only able to respond to a few at the time, adding that he would return more calls in the coming days.
Ndibe assured the public that he was in good condition and appreciated the concern and goodwill shown to him.
