Oshiomhole Warns Against Religious Manipulation: ‘The Body of Christ Cannot Be Corrupted by Obaseki’s Rice
Former Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has taken a firm stance against the use of religion as a divisive tool in politics. Speaking in a recent interview with TVC, Oshiomhole criticized the tactics of exploiting religious sentiments and hunger for political gain, urging leaders to focus on inclusive governance.
Oshiomhole emphasized that a governor’s primary responsibility is to serve all citizens, regardless of their faith. He argued that it is not the role of politicians to determine who goes to heaven or hell; rather, their duty is to govern with fairness and integrity.
In his remarks, Oshiomhole pointed out the dangers of using religion and food distributions to manipulate public opinion. He specifically referenced attempts to sway the electorate through religious divisions and the distribution of rice, allegedly from the president’s foundation, by Governor Godwin Obaseki.
“The body of Christ cannot be corrupted by the rice of Obaseki, especially when the rice comes from the president’s foundation,” Oshiomhole stated. He warned that such strategies are destined to fail and called on citizens to resist any leader who seeks to benefit politically from their hunger or religious differences.
Oshiomhole’s comments highlight the importance of unity and integrity in governance, urging Nigerians to reject divisive tactics and hold their leaders accountable to a higher standard of service to all, irrespective of religion or economic status.
