The Osun PDP, through its chairman, Sunday Bisi, claimed that 25 of its members, including party leaders and state officials, were targeted for arrest without a warrant. Bisi alleged that this plan was revealed by some APC members in the state, who boasted of using federal might to victimize Osun government officials and PDP leaders.

Bisi called on relevant authorities to prevent political vendetta and urged President Bola Tinubu to intervene and restrain members of his party in Osun.

In response, the APC chairman in the state, Tajudeen Lawal, dismissed the allegations as baseless. Lawal accused the Osun PDP of attempting to divert attention from questions surrounding the procurement process supervised by the Adeleke government, particularly regarding road contracts worth over N50 billion awarded to allegedly unqualified companies and cronies of the party.

Lawal emphasized that the APC’s concerns were focused on the transparency of the contract award process and accused the PDP of seeking unmerited sympathy by fabricating allegations.

The hostilities between the two parties escalated earlier in the week when the APC accused Governor Adeleke of awarding contracts to unqualified companies owned by his cronies and family members. The PDP denied these allegations and stood by Governor Adeleke.

As tensions rise, Osun State finds itself at the center of a political storm, with both parties trading accusations and defending their positions amidst growing public scrutiny.
