Primate Ayodele: Fasting And Prayers Won’t Solve Nigeria’s Economic Hardship, Leaders Are The Problem (View Text)

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, declared on Tuesday that fasting and prayers won’t resolve Nigeria’s economic hardships, blaming the country’s leaders for the ongoing crisis.

Primate Ayodele stated that God is no longer listening to Nigerians’ prayers concerning the economic difficulties, attributing this to the people’s choice of leaders who are now exacerbating their suffering.

In a statement signed by his Media Aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele emphasized that Nigerians have ignored the truth, and divine intervention is unlikely unless the leaders take appropriate actions.

“We have failed to follow reality. Anyone who says we should pray to solve hardship is only deceiving Nigerians. God is not listening to Nigerians on the issue of hardship any longer,” Ayodele remarked.

He continued by noting that God had warned against voting for another APC government, a warning that went unheeded, resulting in the current hardships. “God warned us but we didn’t follow his will, so we have to face the consequence of our disobedience which is hardship and anguish,” he said.

Ayodele asserted that even if the government mobilized millions of prophets, Islamic clerics, and traditional rulers to pray, it would not alter the situation. The root of the problem lies in human errors and leadership incapacity.

“Let the government organize 10 million prophets, Islamic clerics, and traditional rulers to pray about what is happening, nothing will change except the leaders do the right thing and all that is needed. Let’s stop deceiving ourselves with prayers. Every sector is a mess, people have been praying and fasting, but nothing is happening,” he added.

Ayodele concluded that the issues Nigeria faces have transcended the power of fasting and prayers, stressing the need for tangible actions from the leaders to rectify the situation.
