According to Major Adesagba Adekoya (rtd), the Executive Chairman of the agency, who promptly responded alongside other emergency response agencies including the Oyo State Fire Service, Amotekun operatives, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Oyo State Security Network Agency, the incident occurred due to a faulty turntable.

Fortunately, there were no casualties reported, although the situation led to traffic congestion along the affected road.

Major Adesagba emphasized the importance of caution for all road users, particularly those transporting heavy loads. He urged tanker drivers and operators of heavy-duty vehicles to ensure their vehicles are in optimal working condition before commencing any journey.

“During this period, road users are urged to exercise patience and cooperate with traffic officers who are working diligently to manage the situation,” he added.
