Renowned rights activist and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Prof Mike Ozekhome, has expressed his approval of Nigeria’s decision to revert to the old national anthem.

During a press conference held on Wednesday, Ozekhome welcomed the return to the old anthem, emphasizing that the change was long overdue. He highlighted the superior lyrical content and context of the old anthem, asserting that it surpasses the previous one.

“I am elated by Nigeria’s return to the old national anthem, 10 years after I moved a motion for it at the 2014 National Conference,” Ozekhome remarked.

He praised the decision to reinstate the anthem, titled “Nigeria, We Hail Thee,” echoing sentiments shared by Senate President and fellow supporters of the change.
