Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has revealed significant milestones achieved by his administration in the past year, amidst challenges inherited from previous administrations.

Addressing attendees at the Dr. Obi Wali International Conference Centre in Port Harcourt, Governor Fubara disclosed that his administration inherited 34 uncompleted projects valued at over N225.279bn across 13 local government areas. He further outlined the commencement of nine new road projects valued at N534.332bn, signaling a commitment to infrastructure development.

Despite ongoing political turbulence, Governor Fubara expressed confidence in overcoming challenges, emphasizing a dedication to the welfare and progress of Rivers State. He highlighted the successful defense of governance rights and vowed to continue advancing the state’s development agenda.

Fubara’s address included a comprehensive account of his administration’s performance, covering economic growth, healthcare, education, agriculture, and infrastructure. Notable achievements cited include the revitalization of the Rivers State Emergency Ambulance Service, upgrades to healthcare facilities, and the empowerment of primary healthcare centers.

The governor underscored efforts to attract investments and boost internally generated revenue (IGR), citing a substantial increase from N12 billion to between N17 billion and N28 billion. He also outlined initiatives to support micro, small, and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs), including a matching fund with the Bank of Industry (BOI).

Infrastructure development remains a key focus, with progress reported on major road projects such as the Port Harcourt Dual Carriage Ring Road, Elele-Egbeda-Omoku Road, and Trans-Kalabari Road. Governor Fubara emphasized the transformative impact of these projects on connectivity and economic growth.

In education, the governor highlighted efforts to complete and upgrade secondary schools, along with investment in basic education infrastructure. He assured continued salary payments for civil servants and announced plans to renovate the Rivers State Secretariat Complex.
