NNPP Chieftain Applauds Sanusi-Lamido Sanusi’s Return As Emir Of Kano

Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi, a prominent figure in the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has praised the reinstatement of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the Emir of Kano. Sanusi’s return to the throne follows his removal by former Kano Governor Umar Ganduje, amidst the creation of five new Emirate councils.

The NNPP-controlled Kano Assembly played a pivotal role in repealing the Kano State Emirs (Appointment and Deposition) Law, paving the way for Sanusi’s restoration to the revered position. Governor Abba Yusuf signed the repeal bill into law, marking a significant moment for the state.

Ambassador Ajadi, who contested as the NNPP governorship candidate in Ogun State during the last general election, expressed optimism about Sanusi’s leadership, anticipating that it would usher in a new era of development for Kano.

“I am happy with the return of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to his throne. I believe with his education, exposure, and pragmatism, the city of Kano will witness more developments under him,” Ajadi remarked.

He commended Sanusi’s adherence to the rule of law, noting his peaceful acceptance of the legislative actions that led to his initial removal. Ajadi extended wishes for a peaceful reign and anticipated Sanusi’s valuable contributions to the development of not only Kano but also Nigeria, considering his past role as the Central Bank Governor.

In a call for peace, Ajadi urged former Emir Ado Bayero and his supporters to uphold tranquility and respect the law. He emphasized the importance of abiding by legislative decisions, highlighting the necessity of adhering to the recent repeal of the law that facilitated Sanusi’s return.

Reflecting on past events, Ajadi criticized the actions of the previous administration under Ganduje, which led to the creation of new emirates and Sanusi’s removal. However, he commended the present assembly for rectifying what he termed an anomaly.
