The suspects, originally from Tajikistan but residing in Russia on temporary or expired visas, were identified as Dalerdzhon Mirzoyev, Saidakrami Rachabalizoda, Shamsidin Fariduni, and Mukhammadsobir Faizov. They face potential life imprisonment.

The attack, which involved storming the Crocus City Hall, shooting civilians, and setting the building ablaze, led to the collapse of the roof while attendees were still inside. ISIS claimed responsibility, but the Kremlin alleged, without evidence, a connection to Ukraine, which Kyiv vehemently denied.

Russian President Vladimir Putin attributed the attack to “radical Islamists,” condemning their ideology. The suspects appeared in court, showing signs of physical harm, and three pleaded guilty to terrorism charges. The fourth suspect’s plea was unclear. They have been detained until May 2022.

Additionally, Russia’s Investigative Committee requested the detention of three more individuals, including two brothers and their father, in connection with the attack.
