Tinubu Government Approves Salary Increase For Civil Servants
The Federal Government, under the leadership of President Tinubu, has given the green light to a salary increase ranging between 25% and 35% for civil servants on the remaining six Consolidated Salary Structures……READ ALSO Tinubu Government Proposes Ban On Tax-Evading Politicians From Contesting Elections
In a statement signed by Emmanuel Njoku, the Head of Press of the National Salaries, Incomes, and Wages Commission (NSIWC), it was announced that these salary increments would be effective from January 1, 2024.
Additionally, the government has sanctioned pension increases of 20% to 28% for pensioners under the Defined Benefits Scheme, aligning with the aforementioned six consolidated salary structures and also taking effect from January 1, 2024.
The salary structures covered by these increases include the Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure (CONPSS), Consolidated Research and Allied Institutions Salary Structure (CONRAISS), Consolidated Police Salary Structure (CONPOSS), Consolidated Para-military Salary Structure (CONPASS), Consolidated Intelligence Community Salary Structure (CONICCS), and Consolidated Armed Forces Salary Structure (CONAFSS).
It is noteworthy that prior to this decision, those in the Tertiary Education and Health Sectors had already received their respective increments under structures such as the Consolidated University Academic Salary Structure (CONUASS), Consolidated Tertiary Institutions Salary Structure (CONTISS), Consolidated Polytechnics and Colleges of Education Academic Staff Salary Structure (CONPCASS), Consolidated Tertiary Educational Institutions Salary Structure (CONTEDISS), Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS), and Consolidated Health Sector Salary Structure (CONHESS).
