The Lagos State Police Command, Igando Division, swiftly responded to a distress call, resulting in the apprehension of 20-year-old Hammed Olawale and 23-year-old Japhet Oderinde.

According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, the suspects were found in possession of a locally fabricated semiautomatic pistol along with four live rounds of 9mm ammunition. The clash left 26-year-old Abeeb Fagbohun injured, and he has been promptly taken to the hospital for treatment. Efforts are underway to apprehend other fleeing suspects involved in the cult conflict.

In a parallel development, the Nigerian Police Force has achieved a significant breakthrough in the high-profile case of Nabeeha, the daughter of a Bwari-based lawyer, who was abducted and tragically killed by bandits. A suspected kidnapper, 28-year-old Bello Mohammed, has been arrested during a raid on a hotel in Kaduna. The operation, carried out on January 20th, also led to the recovery of N2.25 million in cash, believed to be part of the ransom money paid by the victims’ families.

Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, a 400-level Biological Science student at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, was one of the four hostages killed by the kidnappers, who had initially demanded a staggering N700 million ransom for nine victims. Bello Mohammed, now in custody, has reportedly confessed to being a member of the gang responsible for the abduction of Barrister Ariyo’s family members.
