Wife Of Detained Binance Executive Accuses Nigerian Government Of Holding Husband With Boko Haram Members
Yuki Gambaryan, the wife of Tigran Gambaryan, a detained executive from Binance Holdings Limited, has leveled serious accusations against the Nigerian government, alleging that her husband is being used as a bargaining chip. She described the situation as deeply distressing. Gambaryan and another executive, Nadeem Anjarwalla, were taken into custody on February 26 as part of an investigation into Binance’s operations in Nigeria……READ ALSO Buhari’s Ex-Aide Expresses Concern As Detained Binance Executive Escapes Custody, Flees Nigeria
Speaking at a roundtable of the House Foreign Affairs Committee on Tuesday, Yuki, represented by Congressman Rich McCormick, expressed concern over her husband’s prolonged detention, which has now reached 65 days. She stated that the Nigerian government had incarcerated Tigran Gambaryan in Kuje prison, a facility known for housing militants and members of Boko Haram.
Yuki emphasized that while she could not speak on behalf of the company, she firmly believed that the charges against her husband were baseless. According to her account, Tigran had arrived in Abuja on February 25 at the request of the Nigerian government to assist with financial compliance matters—a field in which he specializes. However, within 24 hours of his arrival, he was arrested and detained without any formal charges or explanation.
Today, Yuki lamented, her husband remains confined in Kuje prison, a stark contrast to his previous role as a special agent for the United States General Revolution Revenue Service, where he dedicated over a decade to investigating matters of national security, terrorist financing, and various other criminal activities.
