Young John: Davido’s Wealth Makes Me Feel Poor, But Motivates Me To Hustle Harder

Popular Nigerian singer and record producer, Young John, has admitted that seeing the immense wealth of his colleague, Davido, often leaves him feeling financially inadequate.

Young John, known for his hit track ‘Go Hard Or Go Home’, made this revelation during a chat at the Paris Fashion Week in France. Responding to a question on whether he had ever met someone who made him feel broke, he did not hesitate to mention Davido.

“Too many times, bro. Davido. Whenever I see his money, I’m like, I need to work hard and drop more songs,” he said.

Despite feeling financially dwarfed, Young John noted that Davido’s success serves as a major source of inspiration, pushing him to work even harder on his music career.

The talented artiste also recalled that he never initially set out to become a singer. In 2024, he disclosed that he ventured into music as an artist by accident, having started off his career as a producer under Olamide’s YBNL Nation. During his time there, he crafted several hit tracks for Olamide, Lil Kesh, and other stars signed to the label.
