He expressed concern over the diminishing reading culture among Nigerian youths, attributing it to factors such as a deficient educational system, an excessive pursuit of materialism, a scarcity of reading materials and functional libraries, and a waning passion for reading.

Encouraging Nigerian youths to revive their interest in books, Obi highlighted the significance of reading in fostering critical thinking and analytical skills essential for success in today’s increasingly complex world.

Obi’s tweet emphasized, “Reading remains a crucial element in our educational development and must be consistently promoted.

Unfortunately, the declining reading culture among Nigerian youths is a result of various challenges, including a flawed educational system, an excessive focus on materialism, insufficient reading materials and functional libraries, and most importantly, a diminishing passion for reading among the youth.

“At the event, every speaker urged the youths to reignite their enthusiasm for reading. As the saying goes, ‘Readers are leaders.
