Abuja Residents Given Deadline by FCT-IRS To Submit Annual Tax Returns
The Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) has issued an ultimatum to all Abuja residents to file their annual income tax returns before the deadline of March 31, 2025……READ MORE
According to a statement by FCT-IRS Head of Corporate Communications, Mustapha Sumaila, all taxpayers—including private and public sector employees, business owners, self-employed individuals, and public office holders—must file their income returns for the 2024 financial year as required by law.
Failure to comply will result in best-of-judgment assessments being issued on defaulters, alongside possible criminal and civil penalties.
Acting Executive Chairman Michael Ango has been championing voluntary tax compliance, urging residents to contribute to Abuja’s development, particularly as the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, pushes for infrastructure and social service improvements
