Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate Prince Adewole Adebayo made it clear that his preference is to improve President Tinubu’s governance rather than pushing for his removal. Adebayo, who ran in the 2023 elections, emphasized the importance of motivating and inspiring leaders to foster cooperation and positive change.

Adebayo argues that the focus should be on enhancing Tinubu’s leadership by 2025 to address the myriad issues currently plaguing Nigeria. He stresses that it is more crucial to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians and prevent further decline than to seek a change in leadership before the next election cycle.

Despite acknowledging the current administration’s shortcomings, Adebayo urges for constructive improvements rather than outright dismissal. “If you can inspire them, people would be helpful and giving,” he noted, cautioning against exploiting the kindness and tolerance of citizens.

He also expressed concern that the current administration seems unaware of the pressing problems facing the country. Adebayo believes that a renewed focus on addressing these issues could lead to a more promising future for Nigeria. “It is concerning that the administration appears oblivious to the numerous crises affecting our nation,” he said.

Adebayo remains hopeful that Nigeria’s situation will improve by 2027, suggesting that constructive changes in leadership could pave the way for a better future. His stance highlights a commitment to fostering a more effective government rather than pursuing political upheaval.

In summary, Adebayo’s position underscores a preference for incremental improvement and constructive engagement over seeking immediate leadership changes. His approach reflects a desire for progress and stability in Nigeria’s political landscape.
