Akpabio Impeachment Plot Exposed FG Takes Nine To Court For False Claims

Among the defendants are the Incorporated Trustee of Order Paper (where the false report was published), Oke Epia (founder and Executive Director), Tony Okeke Ofodile (Head of Operations), Edna Bill Ulaeto (Admin/Finance Executive), and Elizabeth Atime (lead reporter). Other charged individuals include Regina Udo (Coordinator of Programmes), Leah Twaki (Social Media Executive), Idongesit Joseph Ekoh (Admin Support), and Edoesomi Sharon Omonegho (National Assembly correspondent).

The charges were filed on October 21 before the Federal High Court in Abuja by the Deputy Director of Public Prosecution, A.A. Yusuf. Among the accusations are spreading false information, cyber defamation, and defamation under the Criminal Code Act. The defendants allegedly published the false report despite knowing it was inaccurate, thus defaming the DSS and Senate President Akpabio.

No arraignment date has been set for the defendants yet.
