BREAKING: Ahead Of Ministerial Screening, Tinubu Replaces Alake (DETAILS)

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of Ajuri Ngelale as the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.

The announcement was made just before the departure of Dele Alake from the position due to his appointment as a Minister. Dele Alake is among the nominees who will be screened by the Senate on Tuesday.

Ngelale, who previously served as the Senior Special Assistant for Public Affairs in the Presidency during the immediate past government, worked in the office of former Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.

The appointment was announced by Willie Bassey, the Director of Information in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and it will be effective from July 31, 2023. The appointment is expected to end with the current administration unless the President decides otherwise.

In response to the appointment, President Tinubu encouraged Ngelale to apply his extensive experience to excel in his new role.

Ngelale expressed his gratitude and humility in a tweet on Monday night, acknowledging President Tinubu’s recognition and appointment as his Official Spokesperson & Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity. Ngelale pledged to give his best, expressing his love for everyone.

Prior to this appointment, Ngelale was the Assistant Principal Spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) for the 2023 elections. He also has a background in media, having worked at DAAR Communication (owners of AIT and Ray Power) and Channels Television.
