BREAKING: Hoodlums Set Ablaze Popular Nigerian Lawmaker House In South East

The incident occurred around 1 am on Tuesday in Ubahi-Mbosi, located in Ihiala Local Government Area. The assailants fired shots and subsequently ignited the house.

Dr. Paschal Agbodike, who was previously the deputy speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, hails from the affected area.

Thankfully, no casualties were reported, but the house itself, a fully-furnished five-bedroom duplex with four living rooms and a kitchen, was completely destroyed by the attackers.

The lawmaker, currently engaged in legislative duties in Abuja, confirmed the event to the press, revealing that he was informed of the incident over the phone. The perpetrators had already fled the scene by the time security personnel arrived.

Dr. Agbodike did not identify any potential suspects or comment on whether the attack might have political motives.

DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the state police, verified the occurrence. Security measures are being put in place in the vicinity, and ongoing surveillance is being conducted by law enforcement personnel.
