BREAKING: Israel Halts Electricity Supply To Gaza

Following a surprise attack launched by the Palestinian militant group Hamas on Israel, the Energy Minister of Israel, Israel Katz, ordered the state-run electricity company to halt the supply to the Gaza Strip.

In response to the attack, Hamas captured several Israelis, and Israel’s army spokesman, Daniel Hagari, confirmed the abductions. He stated, “there are kidnapped soldiers and civilians. I can’t give figures about them at the moment. It’s a war crime committed by Hamas and they will pay the price.”

The attack, initiated by Hamas at around 6:30 am, involved thousands of rockets targeting areas as far-reaching as Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Some of these rockets bypassed the Iron Dome defense system, hitting buildings.

Hamas fighters utilized various means, including vehicles, boats, and even motorized paragliders, to breach Gaza’s security barrier and launch attacks on nearby Israeli towns and military posts. They opened fire on residents and passersby.

Israeli army Major General Ghasan Alyan warned that Hamas had “opened the gates of hell.” The Israeli military reported that its forces were engaged in live gun battles in multiple locations near the Gaza Strip, in an operation dubbed “Swords of Iron.”

In Gaza, an AFP journalist witnessed smoke rising from the remains of a residential tower following Israeli airstrikes. Gaza’s interior ministry confirmed that the tower, which contained 100 apartments, was completely destroyed.

The Israeli military stated that it had issued warnings for residents to evacuate before targeting two multi-story buildings used by Hamas. Medical humanitarian organization, Doctors Without Borders, reported that one strike hit the Indonesian hospital in the enclave, as well as an ambulance outside Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza, resulting in multiple fatalities.
