BREAKING: Tinubu Approves Establishment Of New Tertiary Institutions (FULL LIST)

President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the phased establishment of four colleges of education, which will subsequently be transformed into federal universities of education. Additionally, the President has sanctioned the creation of two Federal Universities of Agriculture, two Federal Universities of Medical and Health Sciences, and five colleges of education.

This announcement was conveyed through a statement issued by Obialor-Dur Augustina Okechi, the Assistant Director of Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Education, on behalf of the Minister.

The statement emphasized that this decision aligns with the current administration’s dedication to maintaining governance continuity and policy coherence.

The institutions slated for immediate commencement of establishment include the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences in Kwale, Delta State, and the Federal University of Agriculture in Mubi, Adamawa State. Furthermore, the colleges of education undergoing conversion into federal universities of education are Adeyemi College of Education in Ondo State and Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education in Owerri, Imo State.

In addition to these, the newly sanctioned colleges of education are the Federal College of Education in Ilawe, Ekiti State; Federal College of Education in Ididep, Ibiono Akwa Ibom State; and Federal College of Education (Technical) in Yauri, Kebbi State.

“The establishment and transformation of these institutions stand as a further testament to President Tinubu’s Education for the Renewed Hope Agenda, and will contribute significantly to enhancing access to tertiary education across the country,” the statement concluded.
