As the #EndBadGovernance in Nigeria protest continues into its third day, there are reports of harassment against protesters in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
This report was confirmed by former presidential aspirant and activist, Omoyele Sowore, who alleged via X that both the Nigeria Police Force and operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have been harassing protesters at the MKO Abiola stadium in Abuja.
Sowore stated that there were indications of individuals arriving at the scene to attack activists, with government-sponsored thugs also anticipated to join in the attack.
Operatives of the Abuja police command have arrested some of the protesters who converged on the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
The police picked them up outside the stadium, which was approved for the protest.
Conveners of the protest had demanded to use Eagle Square for convergence but they were denied access.
Security operatives on Saturday dispersed protesters demonstrating in front of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike had on Wednesday secured a court order restricting the protesters to the stadium.
However, the security operatives irked by the disobedience of the protesters to enter the stadium fired teargas at them.
