Deji Adeyanju Calls Out ‘Fake Pastors’ Over Arrests, Commends Adeboye For Defending TikToker

Prominent Nigerian lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju, has declared that any pastor who orders the arrest of critics is not a true servant of God. Ireporteronline reports that SeaKing had posted a viral TikTok video criticizing Adeboye’s directive for a 100-day fast, calling the pastor “very stupid and foolish” for subjecting church members to such a long period of fasting.

Following his comments, SeaKing was arrested by Nigeria Police officials in Lagos and transferred to the Federal Investigation Department (FID) in Abuja under DIG Dasuki Galandanchi for alleged cyberbullying.

In response, Adeyanju praised Pastor Adeboye for demanding SeaKing’s release. He shared his views in a Facebook post:

“Papa Adeboye’s video condemning the arrest of @seaking303 and calling for his release is what every true man of God should do.

This is why I will always respect Bishop Oyedepo and Papa Adeboye. Any pastor who arrests or detains someone for criticizing or insulting them is a fake pastor.

Why didn’t Jesus arrest those who insulted and criticized Him? Did Jesus ever use the police to silence His critics? Fake pastors!

People insult and defame me and my spiritual leaders daily, but I have never supported their arrest.

I would rather defend my spiritual leaders or advise them to sue for defamation, but arresting someone for criticism is the ultimate sign of wickedness and lack of faith.

You are a fake pastor if you arrest anyone for criticizing you.”
