Nigerian Police ASP Found Dead In Apparent Suicide

A senior officer of the Nigeria Police Force, ASP Shafi’u Usman Bawa (AP/No 337979), has reportedly taken his own life in Kontagora, Niger State.

Reports indicate that ASP Bawa died by hanging himself from the ceiling of his residence. His father, Usman Bawa, who lives in the Rigasa area of Kontagora, was the one who discovered the heartbreaking scene and immediately informed the authorities.

Following the report, officers transported Bawa’s body to the General Hospital in Kontagora. Medical personnel confirmed his death, and the remains were handed over to his family for burial in line with Islamic customs.
