Salako called on healthcare workers to demonstrate patriotism and focus on the long-term benefits of serving within the country. He expressed optimism that the widespread emigration of medical professionals, popularly referred to as the “japa syndrome”, will soon reduce.

Salako further warned that salary hikes for doctors could lead to a domino effect, with other professionals like teachers demanding similar increases.
