Speaking at a colloquium organized by the Southeast chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nnewi, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the APC, underscored his belief that Anambra State’s continued allegiance to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is impeding its political growth. Ganduje emphasized Anambra State’s pivotal role in national unity, highlighting the industrious and entrepreneurial spirit of the Igbo people. Despite having APGA governors for 25 years, Ganduje noted that the state has not made the desired progress, attributing this stagnation to political fragmentation.

According to Ganduje, joining the APC would provide Anambra with a platform for vital negotiations and access to infrastructure and other benefits. He criticized APGA’s lack of growth and its failure to integrate Anambra into the mainstream of national politics.

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, also present at the colloquium, echoed Ganduje’s sentiments, stressing the importance of national integration and unity. He urged Anambra to align with the ruling party, emphasizing the necessity of understanding the political landscape and forging pathways to end political isolation.

Uzodimma warmly welcomed Senator Ifeanyi Ubah into the APC, acknowledging his grasp of political dynamics and potential contributions to the party. He expressed his aspiration to be among those who facilitate an end to Igbo political marginalization by fostering avenues for political inclusivity.
