Senator Lalong Expresses Disappointment With Military’s Failure To Respond To Plateau Attack, Demands Accountability

In a discussion during a motion sponsored by Senator Diiket Plang on Saturday, Lalong revealed that the military attributed their inaction to proximity and terrain challenges.
Lalong stated, “I received a report from the military this morning, and I was disappointed. [They claimed] the reason for not addressing the situation was due to proximity and terrain. There is no such thing as terrain in the military.”
Senator Abdul Ningi from Bauchi Central added that the attack occurred due to a lack of synergy among the security agencies. He emphasized the unprecedented nature of the incident, with a large group of bandits moving simultaneously. Despite the governor’s efforts to raise awareness, the attack was not taken seriously.
