Earlier reports indicated the recovery and interment of Abigail Frederick’s body, one of the individuals involved in the tragic boat accident alongside Nollywood actor Junior Pope, which occurred on a river in Anambra state.

On Thursday, April 11, the bodies of Abigail Frederick and the cameraman were discovered following the incident that transpired on Wednesday.

In a social media post by film director and actor Moses Eskor, it was disclosed that the deceased’s family faced challenges in affording the necessary traditional ceremonies for her return to Akwa Ibom.

Governor Eno, represented by his chief press secretary Ekerete Udoh, extended condolences to the family, emphasizing the importance of bringing Abigail’s remains to the state for a dignified farewell.

In an official statement, Governor Eno expressed deep sorrow over the tragic boat mishap and mourned the loss of Abigael Edith Frederick, a vibrant young graduate of Theatre Arts who had discovered her passion as a makeup artist.

He clarified that the state government had not been informed about the circumstances surrounding her burial and directed that her body be returned to her family to ensure a proper and respectful burial.

The statement emphasized the government’s solidarity with the bereaved family, the Nollywood community, and Abigail’s friends and colleagues, offering solace and support during this difficult time.
