Governor Otti Makes Surprise Appearance At Former Senate-President Wabara’s Birthday Celebration (Videos)

A mild drama unfolded in Umuahia as Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, made an unexpected entrance at the venue of the 76th birthday celebration and grand reception for former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara. The event, organized by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), witnessed Otti’s presence despite his affiliation with the Labour Party (LP).

Otti’s arrival coincided with a speech by the acting National Chairman of the PDP, Umar Damagun, surprising attendees, including PDP governors from Enugu, Bauchi, Edo, and Oyo states. The unexpected appearance stirred excitement among the crowd, with some PDP members praising Otti while others expressed astonishment.

Notably, the absence of the immediate past Abia governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, at the celebration drew attention and speculation among PDP members.

Addressing the gathering, Otti reiterated his commitment to governing all Abia residents regardless of party lines, emphasizing that elections and litigations had concluded. He denounced alleged messages claiming Abia was unsafe, expressing gratitude to the PDP governors for attending despite the purported security concerns.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, in his speech, acknowledged the PDP’s limited control in the South-East and urged party members to strive towards reclaiming lost states.

The event underscored political dynamics in Abia State and highlighted Otti’s bipartisan approach in fostering unity and governance.
