I Feel Like My Life Is Under Threat” — Sarah Martins Calls Out Dispatch Rider Over Alleged Harassment
Nollywood actress and influencer Sarah Martins has raised concerns over an alleged pattern of harassment and insulting messages from a dispatch rider whom she previously assisted.
According to Ireporter Online, Martins revisited the matter in a post on Instagram, where she alleged that the dispatch rider began harassing her after making a delivery.
The actress said she initially reported the man to the company he worked for following the alleged incident. According to her, he was reprimanded and suspended, although he later claimed that he had been dismissed from the company.
Martins said the situation attracted criticism from some Nigerians, prompting her to reach out to the dispatch rider out of sympathy. She claimed that she subsequently took him out for lunch and went shopping with him before deciding to distance herself after allegedly noticing what she described as an entitled attitude.
She further disclosed that a fan later gave her a motorcycle to give to the dispatch rider. According to Martins, the motorcycle required about ₦150,000 in repairs and an additional ₦350,000 for painting.
She said she agreed to take care of the necessary repairs but asked the dispatch rider to wait before collecting the motorcycle. However, she alleged that he insisted on taking it immediately, after which she allowed him to do so and also gave him ₦20,000.
Martins explained that she asked him to give her some time to provide the remaining money, noting that she had to first pay salaries to more than 13 workers.
According to the actress, the dispatch rider subsequently began calling her repeatedly and allegedly sending messages demanding the balance. She claimed that after she stopped answering his calls, his messages became insulting and included comments about her marital status.
“This guy started calling me as if I was owing him. When I stopped picking his call, he started sending me messages, insulting me, marriage-shaming me, saying, ‘That’s why I no go ever see husband,’” she alleged.
Expressing concern over the situation, Martins said she felt that her life could be under threat and issued a warning against any further messages of that nature.
“I feel like my life is under threat. This is a direct warning to you. If you ever send me any message like this again, I will use every connection I have to deal with you,” she said.
